Small Employer OHS Training

This Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) course is for Small Employers (ISEBASE, SEBASE) registered in SAFE Companies and is one of the requirements of SAFE certification.

Small Employer Definitions

At least one employee from every forest sector company with 2-19 employees in the SAFE Companies program must take this course to achieve and maintain SAFE certification.

Important: This training is step two of three steps required to become SAFE certified:

  1. Register with SAFE Companies
  2. Complete Small Employer training
  3. Submit a certification audit

Who should take this course?
Participants should be active in their company's business operations and be knowledgeable of the work activities. Participants must be able to communicate in English and be willing to participate in group activities.

Goals & Objectives
To help develop and maintain an effective workplace Occupational Health & Safety Program.

Duration
Two days. Classroom training combines trainer lectures, practical exercises, and testing. Coffee and lunch are provided.

Cost
Total cost of instruction and materials is $336 (includes 5% GST).

Enrollment
Submit a completed enrollment form and course fee.

What do I need to bring with me?
For the benefit of classroom activities, it is recommended that you bring your current Safety Program Manual or a laptop if your Safety Program Manual is in an electronic format.
