Safety Alert
A supervisor noticed a truck driver standing outside of their vehicle in a designated safe zone (marked as X in the image) as a forklift was transferring dunnage to and from their truck.
The supervisor saw that, without notifying the forklift operator, the truck driver left the safe zone and began walking towards the cab with their head down apparently preoccupied by
their phone. The forklift operator was facing forward and was unaware of the driver’s movement and did not see the driver entering the work zone.
