BC’s wood products manufacturers have come together to advance research and best practices in improving mill safety in response to devastating mill explosions in 2012.
Their aim is to develop resources to share knowledge and learnings with all industry to prevent similar recurrences.
The wood manufacturing industry has done a lot of work to manage combustible dust hazards in our sawmills as evidenced in inspections. The progress has been moving forward very well and will continue to be an ongoing area of focus. Resources will be updated regularly as safety practices evolve.
